July 26: Paige gets many requests for shorts and hot-pants, so since the forecast was for very hot and steamy weather that's exactly what she wore for our day out to try to keep cool. All that leather around her legs is hot enough on a day like this, so anything to help stay cool is a good thing!
Even the walk up the graval path to the car was a little bit slower than normal with the higher temperatures, and it wasn't even noon yet!
July 27: Luckily things were cooler down near the river... a nice breeze and the shade of the trees helped to make it a little easier and more comfortable to swing along on crutches..
Once Paige was balanced against a nearby tree she was able to reach down and unlock one brace for a little more variety in posing...
July 28: It was finally time to head back to the car so we could get on the road to our next destination... a local orchard and farm market to get some fresh peaches and vegetables...
We had been to the orchard in the past and knew there were steps, a rough parking lot and lots of old, loose planks on the floor of the market, which was somewhat cramped inside for using crutches, so since Paige has had a lot of requests lately for some photos in one leg brace this seemed like the ideal time. With only one brace and no crutches Paige could enjoy her visit much more and not risk knocking over things inside!
July 29: With a bushel of fresh peaches and some other goodies we were ready to head out. In the sequence below you can see that once we got to the parking lot Paige was getting a little tired, and decided to hitch a ride with Jacqui!
On the way home we still needed to make a quick stop for some gas... we'll be posting those and a few others we have of the single KAFO in the future. For now, though, here's the video clips from this series... VIDEO 1 VIDEO 2 VIDEO 3
